Blood on Their Hands

As the death toll mounts, and the world looks at it with horror, the insanity and the foolishness is revealed. I thought we have seen the low of humankind when they killed indiscriminately in Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria. But with the events unfolding with every passing moment, we realise that we discover that we were wrong and it’s a bottomless pit and these ministers and leaders are racing to show us how horrendous their insides are. Every time has it’s own Pharoah. Musa (AS)’s Pharoah killed babies too, then there was Abu Jahl, the Pharoah during the times of Prophet Muhammad(SAW), and today, it’s Netanyahu, Biden and Sunak. Their brutality knows no border.

When 9/11 happened, I was in school. The events that followed destroyed not only Afghanistan but Pakistan too. If you take out the interviews, the media, the news, articles, anything from those times, the words, the narrative, the propaganda is still the same. When Bush was asked to try Osama Bin Laden in a neutral country, he said that he wanted to go on a ‘Crusade’ and hence, bombed the country to bits. The soldiers there did every inhumane thing they could have possibly do; keeping parts of Afghan’s human bodies as trophies, raping girls, and killing off whole families at point blank, and all of this was during the ground invasion. They blew up houses and killed innocent civilians through drones in Pakistan too, claiming militants were hiding there. The Blackwater organization was on its feet working in Pakistan and Afghanistan and Iraq killing whoever they wanted whenever they wanted.

The war crimes that happened in those days came to light years after they had taken place. The people were kidnapped, and abducted from various parts of the world, and were sent to Guantanamo Bay Prison, Bagram Prison and Prisons in Iraq. The pictures are still on the internet and the testimonies are there of how these prisoners were treated, and were kept in prisons for years and years without any charges and they were subjected to worst kinds of tortures that anyone in this world could ever imagine. The so-called harbingers of peace and the flagbearers of justice, turned out to be savages with no morality whatsoever. They didn’t have any humanity, they didn’t have any moral values, and certainly were not the best of the people as they claimed to be.

The so-called freedom of speech turned out to be a hoax too because in US now it is illegal to ban Israel and go for BDS but it is okay to condemn the people of Palestine to a genocide! They are now proposing bills to expel Palestinians from their country. So much for free speech and freedom and the American Dream and what not. If you want to expel them from your country then rid their country from the occupiers. But no, they can’t even do that. The very fact that these countries, the best countries in the world, who have the moral high ground, thinks that chanting pro-Palestinian slogans is also ‘hate speech’ and want to turn around the tables and are propagating that this is ‘antisemitism’! When you scroll around your social media, you come across these people, and the talking points only revolve around the events that happened on October, the seventh! And how appalling it is that there are no pictures on the internet whatsoever of ‘decapitated’ babies and children. But everyone turns a blind eye to the babies, that are not even days old and are killed by Israeli airstrikes, the pictures of children killed and mutilated by the bombs. Have you seen the father who was carrying parts of his children in a polythene bag?! Do they count for anything? But the most appalling thing was when the Israeli minister screamed in the cabinet that these children are not equal to our children. If this was a statement of any Muslim minister, the West would have bombed that place saying that these people are terrorists and are a threat to their ‘national security’ and their existence.

There in no moral background of the US or the West’s policies. The people, who caused Holocaust, dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killed millions in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, everywhere, say that Muslims are terrorists and a threat to their existence. How ironic! As the world watches in horror and the leaders, be it democratic, or dictatorship or whatever, I have come to this conclusion, wherever there is evil in this world, US, UK and the West are in compliance with one another in abetting to those crimes and stand steadfast in those values that only harm other people mostly because they are not the same race i.e. white!

Now the West, and the world stands with Israel, with it’s so called notion of ‘right to self defense ‘. Imagine how comical it is that the only nuclear power in the Middle East, is wailing like a child over some stones that were thrown by some teenagers at their fully armored tanks. And in retaliation killed over 10,000 innocent civilians, most of whom are kids. Now their cultural minister is asking for a Nuclear bomb be dropped on the city of Ghazza, because carpet bombing was not killing enough of the Palestinians and they want that piece of land for themselves. It seems to me that the times have not changed yet, some people are always more equal than the others. The idea of being ‘white supremacist’, ‘white man’s burden’ and ‘others’ will always be there. The US and Europeans, the British and the Israelis have very beautiful notion that they are the supreme race. US President Biden saying that US is the greatest country and is responsible for the world (bully of the world). These countries have this notion that they are untouchables and will never be held accountable for the crimes they committed because all of them would veto one another in the UN and get away with everything.

The reality is that the supporters of genocide and ethnic cleansing that is happening in Ghazza, will face dire consequences in the future. You cannot do injustice in this world and sleep like a baby. There will always be consequences. And Insha’Allah we will see who will win in the Hereafter.

The Verdict!

‘If he dies before getting hanged, drag his body to ‘D’ chowk and hang him there for three days!’

The ‘note’ after the verdict said that. So yes, everyone starting going bonkers. Everyone kind of started questioning the words the judge used for the verdict. Moeed Pirzada started wailing like a baby, all others started saying that this should not have been the end of such a ‘patriotic’ leader. He is a hero and what not.

Just a few questions to those who deem him the epitome of patriotism:

1. If he was such a patriot, how could he sell his land, his military bases to US military?

2. If he was such a patriot, how could he sell people of Pakistan for US dollars?

3. If he was such a patriot how could he let American drones target tribal areas of KPK and Baluchistan?

4. If he was such a patriot, how could he let Blackwater Army roam freely around the country?

5. If he was such a patriot, how could he let US open up a fortress in Karachi in the name of US Embassy?

6. If he was such a patriot, how could he humiliated the hero of the nation, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan?

The questions are numerous. The General did not only commit crimes against his own people, his own country, the neighbouring country, he committed crimes against humanity.

He shouldn’t be charged only with treason but with murder of thousands of people, of torturing thousands of people and of human trafficking.

In my honest opinion, there is no punishment in this world that can do justice to what he did when power was entrusted to him.

Death Sentence

I think he should be hanged publicly and should remain there for several days for people to see.

‘Why do you become so cruel when it comes to him?’

I don’t know..

I put myself in Dr. Aafia’s shoes… And I can not imagine what she has had been through.

I put myself in Amna Janjua’s shoes, and I don’t know what I would feel.

I put myself in the shoes of that person, whose everything was wiped away with one drone.

I put myself in the shoes of a person who was put to shame on national tv.

I put myself in the shoes of those who died on the streets because he gave them the permission to kill.

I put myself in the shoes of those who got the blunt of ‘namaloom afraad’.

The list of crimes go on…

The Blame Game Continues

The incomplete JIT report is here and it confirms that the driver,’Zeeshan’, was a terrorist. The so called ‘operation’ was done on the information provided by the Intelligence Agencies! The Operation was done in such a professional way that they opened fire at the car after hitting the car and the car stopped. Then they took out minor children and opened fire again and then left the children at a petrol station. Wow!

I mean it is the same old Pakistan not the ‘Naya Pakistan’ as it was claimed to be by the C.M. Buzdar or Chauhaan or F. Chaudhary! The CTD officers, who carried out the so-called operation, will be tried under the section 320 and the I.G being transferred or dismissed. How can the higher officials roam around freely like that. Is this how an organisations carry out ‘operations’… what is this non-sense?! Why weren’t any arrests made? Why was there a need to open fire at point blank? If it really was an operation, where was the backup team? Who was giving instructions from the headquarters? Which intelligence agency was involved? Who gave the orders? Why didn’t they secure the area?

The whole JIT is questionable! This is the same game which the previous governments played! This has soo many loopholes that the whole report seems a joke. The same cover-up games so that the people responsible can get away and the aam awaam can be fooled!!!

Or is this a going to be the catalyst to extend the military court’s time period. Just like Swat flogging incident that triggered Swat operation! It seems to be a part of a bigger plan; a plan that will trigger other operations.. a plan that can ensure that we do need military courts, we need jojnt military action plans, a plan that US can again infiltrate and do what they did durjng Musharraf’s era. I still have this strong feeling that the US delegation that came and said that PM Imran Khan has been right all alond and we need to go for joint military operations has something to do with this incident! Only time will tell…

All of us had soo many expectations from.this government and yet it has failed us in such a short span of time. This incident will always be marked as the lowest point of the current government as not only they failed to point at the culprits, but also provided leverage to them!

What ‘tabdeeli’?!

Sahiwal massacre has left it’s marks deep upon my soul. I still can not fathom the fact that the killers are still at large. The Prime Minister has said that after he returns from Qatar, he will give ‘exemplary punishment’ to those involved and will bring reforms in thr Police Department. The Law Minister still claims that the driver that was killed was a terrorist and the family was ‘collateral damage’.

There are a numbers of questions raised with the incident that need to be addressed and Prime Minister thought that Qatar visit is of prime importance rather than providing justice to those who were murdered brutally in cold blood. The Prime Minister has waited this long to bring reforms in the Police Department! The DPO Pakpatan was transferred within a night when he stopped the car of an influential person, the IG was dismissed in a matter of seconds. The rhetoric continues sadly that some people are definitely more equal than the others. Providing justice to the victims of the families is of no importance, but meeting with the U.S. senator was more important. Sadly, we are all standing where we were… not soo much of ‘tabdeeli’ in the way we deal with things.

So the U.S delegation came to meet the Prime Minister and later in the press conference said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was always right ,(smirk) providing the so much celebrated celebrity with a lollipop and later said that we want ‘joint military operations’ for making Afghanistan a better place! The choice of words still resonate in my ears as the Prime Minister said that we will not be used as ‘hired guns’ but perhaps as ‘coalition partners’. The whole Musharraf era is literally playing at thr back of my mind. The whole debate of military court’s extension debate seems to be a part of this whole larger picture which has started to show it’s true colours. The way CTD executed the whole Sahiwal incident, this is how military exectues mist of it’s operations too. We only hear the ISPR’s side of the story, where is the rest of the picture. Only a fool will believe everything they say.

It is not the start of a new era, it is just how history repeats itself…

Accountability

There is a race in Pakistani media scene. Everyone wants to break the news first and channels go to the extent of claiming that it was them who broke the news first! Isn’t it strange that the media warfare has left the people of this country handicapped and mentally ill. Rather than making them more aware, they are more unaware of the situation even then consider themselves to be well informed! I’m talking about the “fake” Swat flogging video! I remember the day when the video was aired, it was Friday and since it was Friday and I had to pray after coming from university and then I went to sleep after lunch only to be awaken by an sms that said a lot of bad stuff about the flogging and the Swat administration and the people being inhumane who were doing that! Fortunately or unfortunately, I didn’t see the video till after sometime. Back at university, when N.A. and Salwa and I were sitting together, we were thinking the same thing, how can it be that no investigation had been done before the video was aired by all the TV channels. The video was repeated shown again and again and again! Anyhow, I remember posting something here regarding the video being fake! Now there are reports that it was actually fake!

Now have the tv channels, who aired the video soo much as to make the world believe that whatever that they are showing is true, repeatedly apologized to the people of this country again, and again and again for not verifying the video before airing it! “sach ki lagan”, “har khabar per nazar”, “geo aur geene do”, don’t they feel any accountability or responsibility of airing the video with so much rush as to avoid one of the most basic principles of media where one has to investigate and verify the authenticity of a news item before airing it! The leaders, political administrators and the military, everyone just jumped to conclusions without thinking for once if this is duly investigated! If there was such an incident or not?! This is what you call spreading AWARENESS or is this what you call brainwashing the people and running propaganda factories?

Propaganda factories are working yet effectively to dismantle the thinking abilities of the nation once again! Since the stupid Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik thing has been going on, all the news channels just show that, the ministers are talking about it, the youth is taking about it. Not having a TV, my husband watches news on internet and for two weeks all we heard was about Sania and Shoaib as if there has been no other news out there. Millions of people are suffering in Pakistan, operation Raah-e-Raast, drone attacks, suicide bombs and Dr. Afia’s upcoming hearing and the final verdict, and all this so-called awareness-spreading-media could highlight was two people getting married?

This is what we have come to! No one’s going to say anything to anyone, do whatever you do and you’d go free until or unless it is in the best interest of “some” agencies or “some” people and “some” countries.  This is just like Orwell’s 1984, the masses are fed so much of this propaganda that they seem to have lost their own insight into things and they believe whatever that media wants them to believe! hadd hai!

Defence Day!

Everyone around Pakistan have been celebrating Defence Day! Friends posting messages on Facebook, and sending smses that we fought like lions and tigers and won the war with a few tanks and fewer fighter jets! True! No one can deny the bravery and the imaan of those soldiers in those days. Today, I don’t know.

The recent reports of blackwater army driving through Iraq and is reported to have been involved in smuggling of weapons, child abuse and all sorts of crimes and since the “underground terrorist US army” is not over the ground, so the crimes go unregistered, unpunished! Not only that now the Blackwater army has deeply set it’s foot inside the boundaries of our own dear homeland for “security reasons”. There are reports in the newspapers that these terrorist army men assault local people in Peshawar and there is NO ONE there who can actually stop them. They move around in their big Chevy cars without number plates. Here’s one of the reports.  If you google it, a number of links would appear… go check for yourselves! I’m serious this is DISTURBING!

Mussolini’s secret police, Hitler (the abominable, the tyrant, the most racist dictator) had a secret police. So, what’s the difference between Hitler or Bush or Obama or Zardari. Don’t they seem like synonyms?! hai na? What say you?! OMG! No, they have been elected and have something to do with democracy! DEMOCRACY! MY FOOT! ( Oh Shoot! I’m losing my temper). What Democracy? The common people of Pakistan don’t know about these things, would they agree to it. No they don’t. But then we have a right to vote, we have a right to change things, but democracy is an illusion far  greater than dictatorship. Atleast one knows that dictatorship is dictatorship. Democracy is actually hypocrisy at it’s best. Anyway, Is no one concerned?! These people have western interests, some reports even call them “crusaders”. They roam around, holding guns, are not accountable for anything, any crime, any lawlessness. They are here for “security” reasons which US doesn’t want to disclose!

So are we going to sit down and watch it from the illusion of safety that we enjoy, but we don’t actually have?! Peshawar… then Islamabad, and who knows they probably are working in Karachi, Lahore and other parts of our country. Are we a country on the edge of ruin… Allah na kare. But the situation is worst than Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. They atleast know their enemies. We, on the other hand, know less and the very fact that the democracy is doing it’s “duty” is highly disturbing. To what limit would they take us? And today if we don’t want to come out of this illusion, I don’t think we have a right to call ourselves educated. The degrees we have now, we should burn them if we believe that whatever that is happening in Swat and the drone missiles won’t visit our homes. Because all of it is happening in our homes!

I’m just too disturbed right now! May Allah show us things as they are in themselves. Ameen. And save Pakistan from these anarchists that are roaming around and killing innocent people. Ameen. And may Allah save Pakistan from going towards these ruins. Ameen. It’s high time mothers of this nation wake up and do the duties that the mothers of the Muslim Ummah are assigned with. May Allah give us mothers like the mother of Mahmud Ghaznavi, Salahuddin Ayyubi. Ameen.

1984 and the Contemporary World

We did 1984 by George Orwell this Semester. And since exams are around the corner, me and my friends were trying to discuss some of it’s aspects. And since we have it in our Literature and Society Course, the teacher gave us the whole historical perspective of World Wars and the Communist Russia, Lenin, Stalin, Italy’s Mussolini and the Nazi Germany.

The whole Idea of the secret police,”Cheka” in Russia when Lenin was there, and then the spy police in Germany of SS and SD. The same allusions are made by George Orwell in his book when he mentions the Thought Police. How there are spies everywhere.

Then the Trade Unions were abolished in Germany and “Nazi Labour Front” was formed. And they had to give certain percentage of their wages to The Party. The whole idea of the Nazi Youth movements were formed where the kids were trained to spy on their family members. The kids were trained to be the ardent supporters of Hitler’s Germany, “working for the German Superior Race”. And we see the reflection of all this in the book. How The Party works in 1984. The Inner Party members, then the Outer Party Members, the Anti-Sex League and the kids who are spying around their parents turning them in.

And there were other allusions as well.

The Writer, George Orwell himself said the book is about the Future. And if we are to look at it from that perspective that how well was he able to give the picture of the future, we have to draw connections of 1984 with the contemporary world. And we were shocked that how well and how far was Orwell able to see beyond his times. How he was able to write such a masterpiece three years after the second world war which gave such insight to the future world.

So, drawing allusions from the contemporary world; First, The Thought Police. And the whole Idea of “big brother is watching you”. If we look at the contemporary world, it’s SO OBVIOUS that our movements are watched really closely. The satellites are there to track you down with your mobile devices or otherwise. The “Google Earth” thing was scary as we could actually locate our own home, the city and everything from there. And something like that is on Internet, just imagine how sophisticated their devices would be which are “not for the public” use. And not just that, the phone lines being tapped, the emails intercepted, and I strongly think that this post is going to be read and I’ll be watched rather more closely and if I get “vaporized”, it won’t come as a surprise!  Anyway, not only that the new things on Internet to tag you, for example, orkut, facebook, blogs and your e-mail accounts. Everything is under scrutiny. Everything’s being watched over. And the thought is pretty scary. Thought Police is more like CIA, ISI, or others.

Secondly, The Propaganda. How in 1984, there’s a whole propaganda, that we’re at war and we’ve prospered this year. We are in better conditions then the last years. And this brings us back to the whole idea of how in Pakistan, Mr. Shaukat Aziz and President Musharraf always brag about the fact that the GNP and GDP are going up. We have more foreign assets now, and people are prospering day by day! The newspapers and the media seems to be “FREE” but they are under restrictions. The media follows govt’s policies or whoever-is-in-power’s policies. Not only that, the text books in Pakistan were recently changed with the intervention of US. One of the teachers, in an interview, were heard to say that from old text books you got the impression the Pakistan was made on the ideology of Islam! And the new text books donot hold the same ideas. Not only that the picture CNN and BBC and the FOX NEWS present is not objective. They are presenting a very biased, subjective point of view to the world (Don’t feel agitated! it’s True!).

Then the allusion of the Room 101. The whole idea of people  being vaporized and tortured to their bones. And Musharraf has mentioned in his book that he has sold people to CIA. People were vaporized by our very government. Plus the horrifying discovery of the AbuGhriab prison in Iraq and Gauntanamo Bay and others that we don’t know of.

Well… though the list goes on and on, I’d like everyone to read the book and see for themselves how the “totalitarianism” of the West is killing the “proles” of the world.
